Veridos presents innovative identity solutions at ID4Africa

3rd Government Forum on Electronic Identity in Africa

Veridos presented its identity solution portfolio at the third annual ID4Africa forum and expo in Windhoek, Namibia, from April 26-28, 2017. The event was hosted by one of Veridos’s long-standing partners, The Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration (MHAI) of the Government of Namibia.

A highlight of this year’s expo was Veridos’s cost-efficient and effective method to increase the security of chipless breeder documents, such as birth certificates, and visa stickers. Since breeder documents are used as a basis for issuing personal credentials including travel documents, national ID cards or bank cards, it is vital to ensure these offer optimal security and reliable data. Otherwise, travel or other documents that are issued on the basis of falsified information can be used to establish fake identities. By incorporating a barcode solution, Veridos stops identity fraud where it starts.

Many African countries, including Namibia, have already turned to Veridos for its identity solutions. Veridos is very proud of its more than two decades of valuable partnership with the MHAI, the host of this year’s ID4Africa, which started with the introduction of Africa’s first polycarbonate ID card back in 1992. As the supplier of Namibia’s passport and ID system today, Veridos is consistently providing highly secure identification documents and supporting systems to protect the identities of the citizens of Namibia.
