Veridos Signs Contract to Produce Nepal's Future Biometric Passports
Berlin/Germany, 31 July 2025 – Veridos, a leader in providing integrated identity solutions worldwide, announces its latest achievement in securing the contract to produce biometric passports for Nepal, reflecting its expertise and trustworthiness in the field of secure document provision. The contract was awarded after an international competitive bidding process by the Department of Passports (DoP), under the auspices of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Veridos will be responsible for the delivery of e-passport booklets complete with personalization services. After a nine-month implementation period, the operation term is set for five years with the provision of the new biometric passports starting in March 2026. This timeline is dependent on all necessary conditions being met to ensure a smooth transition from the current passport supplier. The contract is valued at 42.1 million EUR.
In addition to maintaining the existing passport design, Veridos will enhance the new biometric passports with its cutting-edge security feature, Clip ID – a Color Laser Image Protected ID. This integration underscores Veridos’s commitment to bolstering the integrity and security of Nepal’s national travel documents.
